The Step
"Take it back like Black, but I mean Corey..."-Black Spade
Growing up, this was my favorite hairstyle. It's crazy to me that kids today try to rock this same cut. It looked good in 1992. I'm praying this haircut doesn't make a comeback though. I did this joking around before I hacked my hair off. Do not attempt this if you don't remember watching Super Dave.

LITTLE BOY: OFF | GROWN MAN: ON
I been embracing this whole concept of getting older lately, and to be quite honest, its kind cool. I personally don't see myself as a style expert, nor do I have the devotion to tell other grown men how to dress, but I do get complimented on my attire quite often. to say the least, I just try to dress my age.
My girlfriend found this awesome men's camel blazer at the thrift store on her lunch break one afternoon last fall and I finally decided to free it out the closet. This is the outcome.

THIS HAPPENED.
So facebook has yet again tried to mess up my day. Saw this post earlier that tried to compare men's fashion of the 1950's to Souljah Boy and Bow Wow?!? That's like comparing Miles Davis to Waka Flocka. True, there was a lot more standard back in the day, but there was also less crack, weed, heroin, cocaine, and meth.
Needless to say I felt a bit offended. Even though images of young black men tend to make them look pathetic, chances are society is to blame. Let's not be naive, the fact stands that there are still conservative, stylish, cultured brothers in this generation. This is my reply:

I Felt Like Posting A Picture Of Me
I had on this cool hooded cardigan with this blue jean button-up and it looked dope, so I asked young Kaydin to take a picture of it, and I put it on my blog.

Pursuit of H A U T E N E S S by Corey Black - GLAM ATTIC
It's always cool to know dope people that are doing awesome things. The Glam Attic is just that. My lovely girlfriend and I stopped by the most fashionable resale boutique in Downtown St. Louis. Here's some footage of her experience.
The store's decor is elegantly fresh! Owners Chris and Teri make your shopping experience genuine and memorable. Their interaction with customers is very friendly, and that just the half of it. With a knowledgeable history of most of the vintage pieces they carry, we really felt like we were shopping in their very own house. Turning the awesome knob up even more is the fact that its like Rag-O-Rama or Plato's Closet, but with Thrift Store prices!! Triumph!
If you're ever in the downtown area, definitely check out the store!

Operation:Dress Code
When I'm heading to school & work, I make the conscious effort to dress for success. I don't have much money, but it doesn't stop me from looking like a million bucks on some days. It's not about how much you spend on your clothes, its how you wear them. Today is one of those days. Check, man make the clothes, clothes never make the man. Went to the thrift store this past weekend with The Hauteness and scored.
Powder Blue Calvin Klein Sweater-$3, EXPRESS Design Studio Pant-$4 |

Banana Republic Striped Oxford-$3 |
Oscar De La Renta Tie-$1 Not bad for an $11 dollar outfit... |

REMEMBER THE TIME?
"MJ Gone... our n*gga dead."- Kanye West
Funny how times change, yet stay the same. How images from 20 years ago resemble the things we see today.
But has Kanye West taken it too far? Is there a limit to where artist can go when expressing themselves? I'm not going to run out and buy a kilt and act like I'm steezing, but is this a little too much?
I saw this picture and immediately thought of Remember The Time.
